James Loves God!

Weds Sept 2
James came home from school today and told me that one of the kids in his class did not like God.
When I asked him to tell me about the conversation it went a little like this:
"_____doesn't like God. I told her that God loves all of his children." When she did not respond to that, He asked "do you like Satan better?..." to which she replied yes.
James and I have decided that maybe she hasn't had a chance to meet people that love God, so
we are going to pray for her. James said that it made him feel sad and he could talk to her and
be nice to her. Apparently his initial reaction was to defend and so he thinks he may have spoken to her meanly. I am so proud that my child Loves God and finds comfort in the truth that comes from Him. Sometimes you wonder if it all sticks? We pray before meals, and at bedtime. God is a part of our everyday life. We sing praises to him, have devotions, Awana's, church. I just hope that my behavior is loving and kind when I am confronted with the same issues.

Lesson for today..Love the Lord your God!
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' Matthew 12:30

The Second week

This is the second week of school, James has enjoyed many things including Art, and mostly Music!
He is my child for sure! Listening is a challenge so far, but the teacher says confidently "we'll get there"! (He may have come by it honestly, based on my track record so far.) Really there needs to be some form of orientation for parent's who are new to Kindergarten, it would help so much.
Although, I seem to be the only one who missed Day 1! We do have a back to school night tomorrow, so I am sure I will get many questions answered.

Today's lesson......Listen! Model the behavior that I want my son to exhibit!

That Mom!

Well I think I am going to be that Mom from now on! I have met 2 other mom's, both know who I am because My son missed the first day. Ohh, "you must be J's Mom" was one reply to my question about where I should pick him up!
On Thursday I had a friend pick up my son. There was a huge folder of paperwork, and my girlfriend told me there were many things that needed to be signed. I should have looked it
over better! It looked like the teacher had put the papers in backwards and it was mostly code of conduct stuff, I figured I would read it all aver the weekend!
~ On Friday morning I noticed that the teacher was collecting the folders, and my son did not have one to give. I went through the papers later and found what was probably the original starting point.... The note from the teacher with exact directions on what she needed to be returned with the folder. My son cried when I picked him up because he did not get a lollipop for returning his folder on time. He learned that he needed to tell Mommy about the folder, I learned that I needed to check the backpack daily and efficiently.

Lesson 2.........Don't assume! I assumed that my child would have left all of the things in the folder, exactly the way they were. (He did get the Lollipop on Monday!)

The First day!

Well Day one was last week, but I have a little catching up to do!

Aug 25th-
1 day before school started, my son and I had lots of plans for the last afternoon of freedom.
Those plans were quickly changed when I received a call from the school saying he was absent.
~ WHAT? I really thought school started on Wednesday instead of Tuesday.
We missed our son's first day of Kindergarten.... No Parental prizes here. I have a forgiving child however, and what better way to be sure that the teacher remembers his name?

I guess the lesson for today will be....Get it in writing so you don't forget it!
